Calling all Hard Rock Fans!!

The Bad News...
"Guys, you may or may not be aware that there were only two Rock songs in a hip hop dominated British charts last year. This is the worse showing for rock music in the charts since the early 1960’s!!! The upshot of this is that most mainline radio stations are playing hip hop dominated music constantly :o( Now some of you may think this is no great issue as you rarely listen to mainline radio stations, but even broadcasters like Planet Rock rarely play anything new…

Having been both shocked and seriously offended by those stats, 80's NWoBHM band WEAPON are determined to attempt to re-address the balance and fly the flag for rockers all over the world with the imminent release of their first single release since 1980's "Set the stage alight"

Let’s see what the Rock community can do to help the situation starting with downloading the new WEAPON single “Ready 4 U” If we can make some headway with this, we are sure it will encourage more great rock acts to start releasing singles, which will in turn re-address the balance in terms of awareness and radio play for rock music in the UK.

The last time WEAPON released a single , the following piece of Rock n Roll history was made:

METALLICA opened its early live sets (and “Kill ‘Em All” album) with “Hit The Lights” a song that begins with a noisy 2 – chord flourish meant to evoke the opening of a concert. However, in a further illustration of NWOBHM’s important role in Metallica’s musical direction, the opening chords – drum fills and all seem to have been lifted directly from WEAPON’s “Set the Stage alight” The 1980 release from the influential fledgling NWOBHM band”...Metallica Biography “Damage Incorporated” Published 2006
